MRC's Advanced Mobile Gateways (AMG) are designed to significantly enhance Electronic News Gathering and Outside Broadcast by providing robust TCP/IP routing and wide area connectivity between the studio and remote ENG / OB units. Remote control, packet based file transfer and workflow automation are just some of the advances made possible by these platforms.

The AMG1000 supports remote connectivity and LAN extension capabilities by creating secure IPSec Virtual Private Network tunnels between the Studio and the remote vehicle. Bi-directional wide area connectivity options include EVDO 3G wireless cellular and 802.11 WiFi. The AMG1000 integrates an industrial strength Layer2 100BaseTX Ethernet Switch, TCP/IP router and internal cellular amplifier. A Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver for optimized resource deployment is optionally available.

The AMG1000 and MRC's MTX5000 ENG Mobile Transmitter work in unison to create an industry leading IP ENG solution. In this mode the Advanced Mobile Gateway supports remote monitoring and control of the MTX5000, plus drag-and-drop file transfer capabilities.
