Overview
As the move towards fi le based video storage becomes more pervasive, new opportunities are created for improving work fl ow in news gathering and remote broadcast operations. When you think about it, a digital ENG system, like the MRC MTX5000, is really a transmission system that can deliver live video at moderately high data rates from the fi eld to the studio. By taking advantage of newly available options, the power of that transmission system can also be used to send pre-recorded video fi les in raw or edited form to the studio by encapsulating them as IP packets in an ASI stream. At the studio, the IPRX provides an effi cient means of separating prerecorded video fi les from live a transmission stream.
Product Features
The MRC IPRX was designed to compliment the IP fi le transfer and remote control capabilities of MRC's MTX5000 ENG Van Transmitter. Easy to install and operate, the IPRX is a stand alone device that will separate encapsulated IP packets from an incoming ASI stream.
IP traffi c destined for the studio is encapsulated and multiplexed into the same bit stream that carries real time ASI from the internal MPEG SD/HD encoder. In addition, using MRC's single carrier QAM modulator, you can achieve throughput rates approaching 60 Mbps in a 12 MHz BAS channel.
At the ENG/OB Van, the MTX5000 can encapsulate and transmit IP in an ASI stream that may, or may not be carrying live video at the same time.
When the ASI output of the downlink is passed through the IPRX, it will separate the IP packets from the ASI stream and present them through an RJ45, 10/100 BaseT, interface to the studio network.
